MAFS couple Evelyn Ellis and Duncan James’ luxury Mercedes Benz is rear-ended by a bus on busy road

EXCLUSIVE: MAFS couple Duncan and Evelyn looked stressed and angry after their luxury Mercedes-Benz is rear-ended by a bus on a busy Sydney road

Married At First Sight couple Duncan James and Evelyn Ellis were involved in a car accident when their luxury vehicle was rear-ended by a bus.

In photos obtained exclusively by Daily Mail Australia, the pair stood on the footpath and assessed the damage done to their Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG on Military Road, in the Sydney suburb of Neutral Bay.

The accident happened at about 1.30pm on Wednesday as traffic flowed past them.

The car and bus were stationary in the citybound bus lane, which is also a no-stopping zone, as the two drivers exchanged details.

It has been confirmed the couple, who started dating after MAFS finished airing in April, were not illegally driving in the bus lane when the accident occurred.

A nearby sign specified the bus lane was only active between 6am and 10am.

Evelyn, 27, appeared distraught as she covered her mouth with her hand while Duncan, 37, made animated gestures with the bus driver, but remained calm.

The bus looked to have caused serious damage to the vehicle, with the black car boot crunched in and unusable.

Evelyn and Duncan confirmed their relationship status last month, after months of rumours swirling that they were more than just friends.

They were recently pictured kissing and cuddling on a date night in Sydney, and revealed it was ‘exhilarating’ and ‘freeing’ to finally go public.

‘We are in a relationship. This is [our] hard launch,’ Evelyn told Nine.com.au.

‘It feels good to finally just say it and it feels kind of exhilarating in a weird, freeing way,’ the Maxim cover girl added with a laugh.

They also revealed during an interview on Today Extra they were already thinking about tying the knot for real.

When asked by host David Campbell if he would consider a proper televised wedding with Evelyn – after they were both matched with other people on the latest season of MAFS – Duncan said he would be up for it.

‘Yes, I’m keen,’ the cyber security salesman said with a smile, while model and marketing manager Evelyn kept her lips firmly sealed.
