He’s the Married At First Sight star who became one of the most notorious cast members on the already controversial Channel Seven reality show.
And Dean Wells has revealed his past life as a bass player for a hardcore punk rock band during his teenage years.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Dean posted a series of images that showed him rocking out on stage with his Newcastle based band Disengage.

One photo showed Dean looking studiously at his fret-board as he belted out a number.
Another showed him hunkered over his instrument as the band’s frontman, clad in a pair of McDonald’s pants leaped into the air with punk rock angst and abandon.
Another showed him, ‘mid-mosh’ with the band’s guitarist on stage, while a fourth featured Dean onstage filling in on bass for Orange County, California punks Ignite.
Dean, who has since developed a penchant for hip hop, flowing into the mic under the name MC Visionz, was full of warmhearted reminiscences over the images.

‘Here’s a few pics of me from back when i played in my old Newcastle hard core punk rock band Disengage,’ Dean wrote. ‘We were a socio politically focused fast and loud punk/rock band.
He continued: ‘we used to have the most rowdy gigs ever.!! Miss those times. Before I turned into a rapper,’ adding the hashtags #punkrock #sjw #newcastlepunkrock #veganpunk and #visionz.’
Dean’s co-star John Robertson chimed in, urging hm to get back on stage with: ‘ Big Dean – one thing to say mate – you looked so cool. Get the band back together I say.’

During the early 1990’s Dean was a regular fixture in underground punk venues in his hometown of Newcastle, New South Wales playing with the band who developed quite a following.
Aside from their own material which included songs with titles like Rust the band also covered material by Brazilian metal combo Sepultura and Cleveland, Ohio punks Ringworm.
