MAFS’ Tracey Jewel speaks candidly about surviving domestic violence

She made headlines after revealing that she is a survivor of domestic violence earlier this month. 

And Married At First Sight star Tracey Jewel has now committed herself to helping other survivors overcome the pain of abusive relationships by delivering a keynote speech at a domestic violence seminar. 

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the mother-of-one shared a candid black-and-white photo of herself along with the exciting announcement: ‘I’m so proud to be the key note speaker for High Tea with Friends!’

She explained: ‘I am a survivor of domestic violence myself, and I want to share my story to help others who are in the same position I once was.’

She went on to quote a paragraph from her book, Don’t Mess With The Goddess: The New Rules of Consciousness For The Millennial Woman.

‘By sharing some of my story I want to stop the hurt, pain and loneliness that comes from domestic violence, because one in three women will be a victim of violence during their lifetime,’ she wrote.

‘I was scared. I was bruised. I was isolated,’ Tracey wrote in the self-help novel. 

‘I am healing. I am hopeful. I am one of the many courageous survivors,’ she added.

She later added: ‘Abuse never goes away. An abuser will never change, even though he may lie dormant like a volcano for a while, let me tell you, a situation, a word, an action will erupt him again. It’s only a matter of time.’   

Tracey made headlines during her stint on reality show Married At First Sight after her on-screen husband Dean Wells was caught in the midst of an ‘affair’ with bikini model Rankin.  

While Tracey initially forgave Dean for his actions, she eventually decided not to pursue their marriage outside of the experiment.
