Magdalena recalled taking a pregnancy test at their Byron Bay home and ‘walking around the house’ with it prior to telling Archie he had a sibling on the way.

‘I saw I was pregnant and said, “Mummy’s going to have a baby!” He just put his head against my belly and we hugged in silence. It was surreal,’ she recalled.

Two months prior to finding out she was pregnant with Archie, Magdalena had suffered a miscarriage which saw her ‘doubled over in pain on the bathroom floor’.

‘So much pain – the worst period pain, times a hundred,’ she described.

Her and Darren rushed to the hospital, where an obstetrician told the couple they had tragically lost the baby.

‘It was the most depressing thing we’ve ever experienced. I remember thinking, “Yesterday I had a baby, and today I have nothing”. I felt empty,’ she said.
