Maisie Williams looked strikingly different as she channeled the iconic Jordan Mooney with bleached eyebrows as she spoke about her refusal to conform to ‘traditional’ beauty standards. 

The Game Of Thrones star, 25, looked worlds apart from her popular character Arya Stark as she sported blonde eyebrows and golden locks for the latest cover story in Net-a-Porter’s digital title PORTER.

She looked sensational in a Tory Burch black knit sweater which she paired with a Wales Bonner orange patterned turtle neck and Pariah earrings for the glamorous photoshoot.

The actress accentuated her striking features with a touch of mascara and kept her bleached eyebrows blonde, matching her light tresses, which featured bold dark highlights on her fringe.

In one stunning shot, she showed off her incredible physique in a Victoria Beckham floral maxi-dress with a keyhole cutout.

Another notable photograph saw Maisie posing up a storm in a matching navy Gucci jacket and jeans, which she teamed with a Paco Rabanne frilled top and orange Pariah hoop earrings.

Her striking blonde look comes as she is embodying pioneering punk Jordan for her latest role in director Danny Boyle’s forthcoming six-part drama Pistol, an adaptation of guitarist Steve Jones’ hard-hitting 2018 memoir Lonely Boy: Tales from a Sex Pistol.

Speaking to Net-a-Porter’s digital title PORTER, Maisie opened up about her quirky sense of fashion and her refusal to conform to ‘traditional’ beauty standards.

She said she went through a period of being desperate to look ‘traditionally’ beautiful before she decided to cut her hair into a mullet and go in a different direction with her look.

She said: ‘For the longest time, I was battling with wanting to look traditionally like what people picture as beautiful and I was getting really lost in that.

‘Then, I cut my hair into a mullet and said, “Well, I’m not going to even try anymore and I’m just gonna do something which I think really suits me and is still very different to everything I’ve been doing but feels right”. 

‘I was never getting the “Oh my gosh, she looks so beautiful” [comments] before, but certainly afterwards I was getting “Wow, that’s really cool”.’

In terms of her fashion, Maisie said she favors pieces from high-profile brands including Prada as well as items from emerging young designers as she carves out her new aesthetic. 

Maisie also touched on her latest role as Jordan, a former SEX boutique sales assistant who became one of the early faces of the bourgeoning ’70s punk scene and attended many of the Sex Pistols early performances.

Jordan, whose real name is Pamela Rooke, tragically passed away aged 66 on April 3 following a battle with bile duct cancer.

Maisie explained that before her death, Jordan served as a consultant on the series, admitting that the thrived off the punk icon watching her performance.

She added that embodying Jordan’s formidable punk appearance made her feel confident, admitting she ‘turned heads’ walking on to set. 

‘It did make me feel very, very powerful and confident,’ she added.

Speaking about how her breakout role as Arya on Game of Thrones has influenced her later career, Maisie explained that she is trying not to enter other roles where the character is ‘hot-headed’ or ‘angry’. 

The star admitted that although those roles have become a place of comfort for her, she wants to branch out and explore more jobs that will allow her to engage other sides of her personality.
