A high-profile AEW star is set to leave the promotion and join up with rivals WWE, according to reports.

The fighter, a former TBS champion, featured in the AEW’s Collision event in Cincinnati earlier this month where they made a surprise appearance in the ring against Kris Statlander.

Now the wrestling star is said to be ‘all finished up’ with the AEW and that sources indicate they have now already agreed terms with WWE.

According to Fightful Select, Jade Cargill is the wrestler in question who is set to leave the AEW, with her appearance in Cincinnati set to be her last before moving over to their rival promotion.

Sources from both groups have indicated Cargill is heading to the WWE, the report goes on.

Jade Cargill is reportedly set to leave AEW and join rival promotion WWE

The 31-year-old won the TBS Championship last year after defeating Rugby Soho – becoming the inaugural champion and reigning for 508 days, the longest of anyone in AEW history.

Her run was ended at the AEW’s Double or Nothing event earlier this summer, where Statlander defeated her in under fifty seconds in their first match.

News of Cargill’s possible move from AEW to WWE comes after reports that WWE legend Edge is heading the other way following the expiry of his contract.

Edge – real name Adam Copeland – has seen his future been placed up in the air after news that his contract demands has not been met.

He was subsequently removed from the WWE’s internal roster for Smackdown and Raw.

PWInsider reports that Copeland has since been added back, but not as an active TV performer and only as a ‘miscellaneous’ talent for personalities who are not actively working with either series.

According to a report from PWTorch, Copeland presented WWE with the terms he deemed necessary to sign a new contract, but that WWE declined to meet his request.

This is said to have spared a belief within WWE that Copeland will sign with rival promotion AEW, with the promotion’s president, Tony Khan, known to be a keen admirer of the Canadian.

AEW is also home to Copeland’s longtime friend and former tag-team partner Christian Cage, with the pair having last worked together inside the ring in 2011, prior to Edge’s initial retirement.
