Mamamia founder Mia Freedman to demolish her lavish $13million home overlooking Sydney Harbour in huge $4million rebuild

Mia Freedman is set to demolish her lavish $13million Sydney home in an extravagant $4million rebuild project.

The co-founder of media company Mamamia, 52, and her husband Jason Lavigne first bought the Point Piper home overlooking Sydney Harbour back in 2020.

Just four years on, the couple have lodged plans to transform the five-bedroom home into a brand new dwelling, according to the Daily Telegraph.

The rebuild is said to have an estimated building cost of $3.9million and will be designed by Roth Architecture Workshop.

Mia and her husband Jason bought the sprawling 1910 home in the ritzy waterfront suburb for $12.75million, after it last sold for just $6.1million in 2013.

The luxury home boasts five bedrooms and four bathrooms and has lavish amenities including a ‘Party Sized’ cabana, a modern wet edge pool and a sauna.

The non-waterfront property has a prime location near the Royal Motor Yacht Club with picturesque views of Sydney Harbour.

Daily Mail Australia has contacted Mia for comment.

The purchase came after a court ruled Mia and Jason were no longer entitled to live in the Bellevue Hill home they had moved into five years before with their three kids.

They had attempted to purchase the rented home in 2019 but the landlord withdrew the contract after a dispute over a leaking roof, resulting in the family moving out.

The family had a long connection with Bellevue Hill, having previously owned a $4.8million home in the same area.

Mia is best-known as editorial director of Mamamia, which describes itself as the country’s largest digital media network for women.

She is also well-known for hosting the Mamamia Out Loud podcast with Holly Wainwright and Jessie Stephens.
