A man who woke up in a construction site on top of a building with no idea how he got there has been rescued.

The man, 41, woke up to the sound of construction in Brisbane this morning after falling ten metres from a rooftop into a crevasse below. 

He told paramedics the last thing he remembers was being on a night out in the city.

A doctor was winched down to the man to assess his condition before he was hoisted up with a harness by firefighters.

Pictures from the scene show the man being attended to on the rooftop. 

He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Queensland Ambulance Service said in a statement: ‘A paramedic has abseiled down between two buildings at a construction site to assess a male patient who potentially fell 10m into a crevasse in Fortitude Valley. 

‘At this stage, the man has not sustained any apparent injuries.’
