Darrell Burnside, 49, was arrested Wednesday for allegedly killing his girlfriend
A Mississippi man has been arrested and charged with capital murder in the stabbing death of his girlfriend.
Darrell Burnside, 49, was arrested Wednesday for the murder of his mistress Ashley George, 25, in April.
George’s body was found in a park in Clear Lake, Texas, near her abandoned car.
Both Burnside and George were the prime suspects in the murder of Burnside’s wife Carol back in January.
Carol Burnside, 47, was found dead in their Mississippi home and police believed there to be foul play.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office said George allegedly took part in that murder.
It’s unclear what charges he faces in his wife’s case.

Burnside is currently being held in custody in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after being arrested in Texas Wednsday.
One day after Carol was found dead in January, her husband spoke to WTOK, saying: ‘The world is not going to be the same without her.’
‘If you were a part of the community, if you were a part of the family, if you were a part of the church, if you were a part of her life, you felt her love,’ Burnside said of his wife.
At the time the family had no clue as to who could have killed Carol.
‘The thing about it is you really don’t know who did it,’ George Burnside, her brother-in-law said. ‘No reason. No cause. It just has the community on a standstill.’
Carol left behind her daughter Aleka, who was at the time helping her step-father Darrell through the ‘tough time’.
‘I love my wife,’ Burnside said. ‘I miss my wife.’

In April, authorities found George’s body on a jetty on the water’s edge with multiple stab wounds.
Authorities said the night before, George told her parents she was going to meet a friend to workout.
After 10pm, once the park closed, surveillance video shows George driving her SUV into a parking lot at Clear Lake Park.
By 4.15am, her car was found abandoned, with blood on the door handle and items in her purse scattered around but nothing was missing.
George’s father joined the search, and he found his daughter’s body around 6am that day.
Police are calling George’s death a ‘retaliation murder’ by Burnside.
He is charged with capital murder in the George’s death and not yet been charged in his wife’s murder
