An eight-year-old girl and a male driver have died in a horrific car crash on Friday afternoon.
The parents of the eight-year-old girl had been travelling directly behind her and witnessed the horror from their car.
The crash occurred on the Bruce Highway, near Childers, Queensland shortly after 1pm on Friday.
Firefighters said the crash is ‘definitely up there’ as one of the worst they’ve ever seen, 7 News reported.

The girl was on her way to a weekend netball competition with her sister and grandmother when their sedan collided head-on with a ute.

‘The male driver and sole occupant of the second car was also pronounced deceased at the scene.’ Queensland Police stated to The Courier Mail.
The two cars were believed to have collided near the intersection of Ross Camp Rd.
While the 50-year-old woman and the 11-year-old girl are both in serious condition, they have suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for assessment.
The parents of the eight-year-old girl stayed at the scene for quite some time while the Forensic Crash Unit investigated. .
