Police say they gained access to the apartment on the second floor without forced entry. It’s unclear whether the apartment was rented out, but it was unoccupied at the time.

The suspects set several small fires inside the apartment at around 8.30pm.

The surveillance video shows them hustling down the hallway to a side exit, and then sprinting away from the building.

The building’s fire suppression system quickly contained the fire, preventing its spread. No injuries were reported.

I have kids here, there’s a lot of kids here,’ one building resident told NBC. ‘So this isn’t something that you want going on in someplace that’s your home.
