A Long Island man has been arrested after he allegedly bit his parents Shih Tzu on the head so viciously he removed her right eye.
Aaron Kluger, 20, has been charged with charged with torturing and injuring an animal, a misdemeanor offense.
The three-year-old pup named Chloe was rushed to an animal hospital for emergency treatment at around 9pm on November 6.
The hospital immediately notified Nassau County SPCA.
Gary Rogers, a spokesman for the SPCA, said on Monday morning that the veterinarian who treated Chloe is hopeful the pooch will regain her sight with proper care and treatment.
Kluger was arrested on Saturday based on information given to the SPCA detectives by a family member.
Chloe appears to be doing well and is back with her owners.

‘I hate to say I’ve seen it all because every time I say it I see something else,’ said Rogers, who visited the dog this weekend, according to the New York Daily News.
‘They’re friendly dogs. They’re popular dogs. She was wagging her tail and licking me.’
Kluger is due back in court on December 27.
