A 49-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was stabbed to death during the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
Police and paramedics were called to a house in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire at 11.52pm last night, where they discovered a woman with a knife injury.
Despite attempts to save the woman, she was declared dead at the scene at 12.12am.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being questioned by murder detectives today.
Police say they are awaiting formal identification but next of kin have been informed.
The road contains a mixture of bungalows and semi-detached houses.
