A barricade situation was underway in the Sydney suburb of Marrickville Friday afternoon.
A man allegedly locked himself in a home near Meeks Road and an active operation was taking place, New South Wales Police confirmed.
Police were notified of the incident around 1.20pm on Friday and told Daily Mail Australia that ‘negotiators were at the scene’.

People on the street were reportedly told to stay indoors over fears the man was armed with a gun.
Negotiators were heard stating: ‘Look outside and you’ll see the police, the best thing you can do is walk out the front door.’
‘Follow my instructions and you won’t be hurt. Open the front door, hands up.’
Dozens of police descended on the street, including heavily armed officers believed to be from the Tactical Response Group.
