A man has been seriously assaulted in a vicious hammer attack in Brisbane’s south in a case of mistaken identity.
Two men forced their way into a Kingston Road home at about 10.45pm on Thursday before attacking the 41-year-old, striking him a number of times on the head before fleeing.
The victim, who has a suspected fractured skull, is not believed to have been the intended target of the attack, according to 9News.

The intended victim of the attack is believed to have recently moved out of the home.
The 41-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
