A 40-year-old man is being rushed to hospital after a shark attack on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.

Paramedics were called to the boardwalk between Manly Beach and Shelley Beach about 5.50 on Tuesday morning, where a man in his 40s was suffering injuries to his abdomen and left leg.

The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition, as police and lifeguards urged other surfers out of the water.

Manly resident Ben told Daily Mail Australia he was jogging in the area about 6.15 when he heard police sirens, and headed to the beach to see what was happening.

‘Quite a few police and lifeguards were there, telling all the surfers to stay out of the water,’ he said.

‘The shark siren went off about 6.40.’

 More to come.
