A man has spent his birthday behind bars after he was charged with murder in relation a fatal brawl in southern New South Wales.
Emergency services were called to at a home in Corowa, west of Albury around midday on Saturday following reports of a fight.
A 41-year-old man was rushed to Corowa Hospital with stab wounds and head injuries, where he later died.

A second man, 33, was taken to hospital in a critical condition for stab wounds and internal bleeding.
He was later transferred to Albury Hospital, where he is understood to be in a serious condition.
A 42-year-old man arrested at the scene and has since been charged with murder.
‘Police allege the 41-year old was involved in an altercation with the 33-year-old man, when the 42-year-old intervened, striking the 41-year-old with a baseball bat,’ a NSW Police media release stated.

It is believed the three men were known to each other and that the charged man’s birthday was on Sunday, according to 9 News.

The family of one elderly neighbour plan to put her house on the market.
Another nearby house has been on the market for at least a year.
‘My mum’s really scared – she moved here to be closer to town – but the police are there at least once a week,’ her daughter told the publication.
‘She kept ringing me when things were happening, so we installed a safety button that she can press for help.’
