Manchester City fans chanted during a minutes silence for the Hillsborough victims ahead of their FA Cup semifinal clash with Liverpool at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
A video circulating on social media also appeared to show City supporters shoving a Reds fan as police stepped in to diffuse the situation.
On Friday, it was the 33rd anniversary of the tragedy that led to the death of 97 Liverpool supporters.

A statement from Man City statement read: ‘Manchester City are extremely disappointed with the actions of some City supporters during the minute’s silence before today’s game.
‘The Club sincerely apologises to all those connected with Liverpool Football Club.’
It comes as American goalkeeper Zack Steffen blundered to gift Liverpool a goal against City.
City was already trailing 1-0 at Wembley when Steffen’s dithering allowed Sadio Mane to score Liverpool’s second in a meeting of the English Premier League’s top teams.

It gave time for Mane to race into the penalty to put him under pressure and slide in to nudge the ball over the line.
City manager Pep Guardiola might be regretting sticking with his strategy of giving Steffen game time in the FA Cup and resting first-choice goalkeeper Ederson.
Liverpool extended their lead further moments before the break and it was the best so far.
Thiago’s clever chipped pass around the mass of bodies at the edge of the penalty area picked out Mane, who hit a brilliant sliced-volley to beat Steffen at his near post.
