Sportswear manufacturer Umbro has announced a signing on behalf of Manchester City – who are actually sponsored by Nike.
According to Umbro’s social media channels on Saturday, United States international midfielder Mix Diskerud has signed a four-and-a-half-year deal with City.
Diskerud, 27, had been on loan to IFK Gothenburg from New York City, and Sportsmail understands Diskerud’s deal has expired, with the Etihad club choosing to take it over.

He will have the opportunity to work with the City Football Group while he goes about finding a new club. Diskerud is not expected to train with the first-team at City.
Diskerud has 38 caps for the United States, despite being born and playing his junior football in Norway.
Neither Manchester City nor New York City FC made any announcement about Diskerud on their official channels.
