Manchester City midfielder Rodri was sent off for violent conduct against Nottingham Forest and will miss the showdown with title rivals Arsenal next month.
Pep Guardiola’s side continued their superb start to the season as they dispatched the visitors with a 2-0 victory.
First half goals from Phil Foden and Erling Haaland ensured City’s 100% record this season remained intact.
But the reigning champions were dealt with a massive blow when Rodri was shown a red card just a minute into the second after clashing with Morgan Gibbs-White.
The Spaniard lost his temper as went face-to-face with the Forest playmaker before putting his hands around his neck in anger. The latter fell straight to the ground before Rodri was given his marching orders.

Despite his sending off, City continued their superb start to the season with another victory
Rodri will now miss three crucial games for City. They will travel to Newcastle in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday before hosting Wolves in the league next weekend.
He will then be able to take part against RB Leipzig in the Champions League but will serve his final match suspension against Arsenal on October 8.
Guardiola insisted in his post match press conference that it’s vital for Rodri to control his emotions on the pitch.
‘Rodri has to control himself and his emotions. This is what he has to do. I can get a yellow card, but Rodri cannot get a yellow card, I do not play. The guys inside have to be careful’, the City boss said.
On his side’s performance, Guardiola added: ‘An exceptional game in the first half. Exceptional game in the second for our resilience and our work because we played, I would say, 51/52 minutes ten against eleven so it was not easy but we were fantastic.
‘I thought the way we played in the first half was amazing so against a difficult side for the physicality the pace they have up front so yeah, recover for the next one.’
