Manchester City duo Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias lead Premier League Player of the Year shortlist while there’s recognition for Bruno Fernandes… and even Tomas Soucek makes the list!

Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Ruben Dias are two of the eight stars nominated for the Premier League Player of the Season Award.
Belgian midfielder De Bruyne and defender Dias played significant roles in Pep Guardiola’s title-winning squad this season, though there is no place for Ilkay Gundogan on the shortlist.
England trio Harry Kane of Tottenham, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish and Chelsea star Mason Mount have also been listed along with Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes, Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and West Ham midfielder Tomas Soucek.

Fans have the opportunity to vote for their player of the season via a vote on the Premier League website, with the winner decided later this summer.
City defender Dias was recently crowned Football Writers’ Player of the Season after a stellar debut campaign at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portuguese centre-back forged a brilliant partnership with City team-mate John Stones at the heart of Guardiola’s defence, which played a major role in them strolling to the title.
Meanwhile, De Bruyne ended the season with six goals and a dozen assists this season to help influence matters at the top end of the pitch for City.

England captain Kane finished as the league’s top goalscorer and assist maker this season, with 23 goals and 14 set-ups for Tottenham this term. However, Tottenham ended up finishing in seventh place this season which could damage his chances of lifting the individual award.
Like De Bruyne, Chelsea midfielder Mount ended the season with six goals to his name after another promising season at Stamford Bridge. The 22-year-old added six more assists and is now set to play a major role in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.
Liverpool winger Salah ended up second to Tottenham’s Kane in the top goalscorers’ list with 22 goals, even though Jurgen Klopp’s Reds flopped in their title defence and finished in third spot.

Meanwhile, Manchester United star Fernandes was pivotal to the Red Devils ending the season as Premier League runners-up with 18 goals and 11 assists for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Midfielders Soucek and Grealish had excellent seasons in claret and blue this season for surprise packages West Ham and Aston Villa respectively.
Czech Republic international Soucek netted 10 times in the league for the Hammers, who managed to secure a spot in the Europa League next season.
