Police are continuing to hunt for those responsible for the horrific crash.
The black BMW driver and about four passengers were in the four-wheel-drive when it crashed into the motorbike after failing to slow down at a give-way sign.
The car then dragged the motorbike and rider 70 meters down the road on Wednesday afternoon in Melbourne’s east.
The motorbike then exploded and caught fire at about 4.15pm, leaving the 33-year-old motorcyclist with severe burns, according to 9 News.
Victoria Police are still hunting for the group of five thieves who dumped the black BMW before stealing another car, which they later torched.
The hit and run offenders are also believed to have attempted to break into a number of houses where they allegedly stole a white Toyota sedan (pictured)
One witness told Fairfax Media they saw the car speeding right before the crash, which dragged the bike along the road as it burst into flames.
‘People were screaming and crying. Then I saw the flames as I raced over to see what was going on,’ one witness told 9 News.
Denyse Ward told ABC News it was an ‘unbelievable’ scene and something that ‘you never want to witness’.
