An apparent case of road rage sparked by a fender bender resulted in the death of a driver who was dragged for blocks by another car in Brooklyn, police said late Thursday.

According to the New York Police Department, two cars became involved in a road accident near 65th Street and Third Avenue in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn.

The fender bender took place at around 9:30pm, WNBC-TV reported.

Immediately after the collision, the two drivers started to fight.

That's when the van's driver hit the gas and started to drive off. The other driver was run over by the van and somehow attached himself to the vehicle as it was moving. He was dragged under the van for at least two blocks down the street, according to police. The victim's shoe is seen above at the scene

The dragged driver was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police took the driver of the van into custody for questioning. It is likely that he will be brought up on criminal charges
