Man finds a kelp whip on a beach in Canada

This is the hilarious moment a man who found a kelp whip on a beach showed off his Indiana Jones skills – but ended up repeatedly hitting his own buttocks.

David Freiheit found the thick seaweed rope on a beach in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. 

David wrote online: ‘I found a huge piece of kelp on the beach that looked just like a whip. 

‘It didn’t behave like a whip. But it hurt like one. I have marks on my back and butt.’ 

In the clip, he can be seen whipping the large piece of kelp toward the sea without much success.

Over and over again he ended up hitting himself until he finally whipped himself too hard in the buttocks and he fell to the ground.

Bullwhip kelp, or nereocystis, can sometimes grow up to 118 ft long. 

This is not the first time Mr Freiheit has filmed himself taking part in an unusual antic.

In 2016, he made internet history by becoming the first person in the world to record himself cooking a steak on a barbecue using a drone.
