Police in Baltimore say a man was found dead of a stab wound in his young son’s room at Johns Hopkins Hospital.
Police spokesman T.J. Smith said in a statement that officers were called to the room at around 2.30pm on Friday after hearing reports of a disturbance.
Smith commented that the man was in his son’s room with the boy’s mother.

Smith says the man was stabbed in the upper body and was pronounced dead.
Police are investigating the incident, but believe the stabbing to be domestically related.
It remains unclear if the boy’s mother is a suspect in the man’s death or has been detained by police.
The hospital said in a statement that the stabbing was an isolated incident.
‘We would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of the deceased,’ Johns Hopkins Hospital spokeswoman Kim Hoppe said.
Since this is a police investigation, we must defer all inquiries to them,’ she added.
