Man in a skull mask brutally smashes car before escaping

A Queensland family were left shaken Monday night after a man wearing a skull mask went on a terrifying violent rampage at the front of their property. 

Paul Klicin was working inside his home office about 7pm when he witnessed the masked man enter his Shailer Park property armed with a large baton.

After forcefully bashing in the windows of a vehicle parked in the driveway, the criminal made a quick escape on foot before driving a way in a ute, Seven News reports.

By the time Mr Klicin made it outside to locate the bandit, he was long gone, leaving no trace of his identity.

‘I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, I was in shock,’ Mr Klicin said.

The electrician described being so alarmed by the impact of the brutal blows that he thought he was hearing gunshots. 

‘I can’t think of any reason someone would want to specifically target me like this,’ he said.

The bangs were so loud it was enough to alert the family’s neighbours, who later also emerged from their homes to help look for the masked perpetrator.

Mrs Klicin said she was left feeling ‘angry and fearful’ at what the destructive intruder had gotten away with.

Police have been reviewing security footage and are calling on anyone with information to come forward.
