Man in his 80s is arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Norfolk

  • Police called to reports female had been stabbed at house in Brooke at 10.30am 
  • She was pronounced dead at the scene and a man in his 80s was arrested 
  • Suspect and woman were known to each other, DI Chris Burgess revealed

A man in his 80s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman was found dead in Norfolk. 

Officers were called to reports a female had been stabbed at a house in Brooke at around 10.30am on Sunday.

The victim, whose age Norfolk police did not release, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man and woman were known to each other, Detective Inspector Chris Burgess said.

He added: ‘We do not believe there to be any threat to the wider public.’

The arrested man will be questioned at Wymondham Police investigation Centre.
