A man donning a set of bird pyjama bottoms has been arrested after police seized $700,000 worth of magic mushrooms.

Strike Force Bagster investigators swooped in on a home in Greystanes, in Sydney’s west, earlier this month.

Officers discovered a hidden laboratory and 46kgs of psilocybin – commonly known as magic mushrooms.

The 26-year-old, wearing magpie flannelette pyjama pants, was handcuffed on the street before being loaded into a paddy wagon

The hallucinogenic drugs have an estimated street value of nearly $700,000.

A 26-year-old man was charged and remains before the courts.

On Wednesday, investigators arrested a second man, from Kellyville, in relation to the drug bust. 

The 26-year-old, wearing magpie flannelette pyjama shorts, was handcuffed on the street before being loaded into a paddy wagon. 

He was taken to Castle Hill Police Station and charged with a slew of offences including manufacture prohibited drugs and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.  

The first man, from Cherrybrook in Sydney’s north, was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court on Thursday.
