Man is killed by a train on Melbourne’s South Morang line

A man has been killed after being struck by a train in Melbourne on Monday morning.

Victoria Police said the incident occurred between Preston and Regent railway stations, but the exact circumstances are yet to be determined.

The South Morang line has been shut down by police request, with buses replacing trains between Epping and Bell.

The man has not been formally identified.
