Man missing after jumping off Como Railway Bridge

  • An extensive search is underway for a missing man, 23, at Como Railway Bridge

An extensive search is underway in south Sydney after reports a person entered the water and failed to resurface.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Como Railway Bridge, north of Como Marina, about 1.35pm Tuesday, following accounts a 23-year-old person was in trouble in the water.

New South Wales Ambulance told Daily Mail Australia that six ambulance crews were on the scene, as well as a rescue helicopter and special operations unit.

Police were told a number of local people had been jumping off the bridge when the man went missing. 

A search and rescue operation was underway, with police from Sutherland and the Marine Area Command also involved.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
