Man pops the question to his unsuspecting girlfriend during at-home game of Family Feud

A North Carolina man popped the question to his longtime girlfriend during a family game of Family Feud.

On December 23, Joshua Powell and Kiana Myrick from Fayetteville were playing an at-home version of the game show with family when Joshua, playing the host, suddenly had a lot of wedding-related prompts for Kiana.

When he finally asked her to respond to ‘Will you marry me?’, Kiana didn’t even realize at first that he was really popping the question.

They do! Joshua Powell and Kiana Myrick from Fayetteville, North Carolina have been together for eight years and just got engaged this week

Joshua’s mother LaShonda Williams recorded video of the creative proposal and shared it on Facebook, where it’s been viewed 1.7 million times.

The game is up to the ‘Fast Money’ round that comes at the end of the show, where the host provides five quick prompts with a timer running, and a single player gives his or her best answer for each.

Joshua is standing behind Kiana and begins the rapid-fire questions.

‘We surveyed 100 women… not really,’ he says.

‘Name a day a woman always dreams of,’ he says.

‘Her wedding day,’ Kiana offers.

‘Name something a woman wears all white to,’ Joshua says.

He finally asked her to how she would finish 'Will you marry me?'

When, unsure, she said 'yes,' he said he'd make it official

The big question: He finally asked her to how she would finish ‘Will you marry me?’ — and when, unsure, she said ‘yes,’ he said he’d make it official

‘Her wedding?’ Kiana answers, clearly thinking it’s strange that two questions in a row had the same answer — but still not catching on just yet.

‘Finish this rhyme: Something old, something new…’ he says, and she chimes in, ‘Something borrowed, something blue!’

‘Name a spot a woman always wants to go to for a vacation,’ Joshua says.

‘The beach,’ says Kiana.

Finally, he says: ‘How would you finish this: Will you marry me?’

Kiana pauses, turning around slightly and saying, ‘Yes, I will,’ before giggling and turning back around away from him.

‘Might as well make it official, right?’ Joshua says, getting down on one knee with a ring.

Finally, it clicks for Kiana, who screams and starts crying as their families cheer them on.

'It's everything, hands down. Definitely won't forget, best gift ever,' Kiana said

‘I love you with all of my heart,’ he tells her. ‘A lot of people may say we’re young. I say life is too short. For everything we’ve been through, we managed to keep God first — and now eight years later we’re here.

‘I’m looking for 88 more. Will you marry me?’ he asks.

Kiana says yes through tears, and Joshua slips a ring on her finger before giving her a hug, much to the elation of the family gathered around.

Speaking to WNCN, Kiana admitted she didn’t see it coming.

‘I just put my head down and kind of just focused, it didn’t even dawn on me that he was about to propose’  she said.

‘I just wanted to give her what she deserved and now it’s like a million views later, like wow that’s amazing,’ Joshua added.

‘It’s everything, hands down. Definitely won’t forget, best gift ever,’ Kiana added to ABC News.
