A Reddit user’s trip down memory lane has earned him five minutes of viral fame after he posted a hilariously embarrassing photo from his high school yearbook on the social media site, where it quickly sparked a frenzy of comments from very entertained viewers.
The man, known only as Moose336, shared the image on the site’s Blunder Years thread, posing it with the simple caption: ‘1996 High School Yearbook Picture’ and then letting the brilliant picture do the rest of the talking.
And boy does it have a lot to say. From the unnamed man’s tightly-curled blonde hair, to the long badly-dyed blue fringe hanging down over one eye, the picture is so incredibly bad that it was hailed by many of the thousands of commenters as being the ‘perfect’ or ‘prime’ example of a childhood blunder.

‘This is peak, prime-cut, blunder years,’ one very enthusiastic commenter wrote, adding: ‘This is the good stuff. Perfect vintage. I love this more than the last few breaths I took.’
Another person joked: ‘I want to put this as my profile picture just so I can see it daily!’
‘Someone should’ve told your hair don’t go chasing waterfalls,’ a would-be comic commented.
Others noted that they were struggling to find a favorite element of the image because there is simply too many brilliantly entertaining aspects to choose from.
While the hair certainly takes center stage to begin with, other more eagle-eyed users also highlighted the anonymous man’s interesting jewelry choices, and his bizarre ensemble.
In the picture, the blonde-and-blue-haired teen can be seen wearing a chunky silver chain choker, as well as two hoop earrings; his stained striped polo shirt has been further accessorized with the addition of a paper smiley face that appears to have been stuck onto the front of the tee and can be seen peeling up at the edges.

‘I can’t tell if my favorite part is the hair or the laminated stuck-on mad face,’ one user joked about the image, prompting another person to chime in: ‘Mine’s the stains on the shirt.’
Much to Moose336’s fellow Redditors’ delight, the image was not the only gem he shared on the forum.
In order to truly capture just how unique his 1996 look was, the anonymous man also posted his yearbook picture from the previous year, revealing a very different appearance altogether.
Before perming and dying his hair into the bizarre, but colorful, style displayed in the 1996 image, Moose336 modeled a more Afro-esque look, showing off a full head of dark brown curls.
One thing that certainly didn’t change between the two years, however, was his love of jewelry; in the 1995 picture, Moose336 can be seen wearing several more earrings – including the same large hoops captured in the later image, and a few other studs.
But while this now-viral user certainly has a claim to the title of most embarrassing blunder, he is by no means the only person to have shared such hilarious imagery on the forum.
One Imgur user has actually collected a selection of the very best – or perhaps the worst – of the bunch, including curly mullet hairstyles, 12-year-olds with the style of 50-something real estate agents and a teen who took a mop to his high school prom.
