A home surveillance camera in the city of Longchamps captured the shocking moment when a group of three muggers fired at Claudio Ramón Pardo’s nephew, Ezequiel, 27, and his nephew’s pregnant girlfriend on Thursday morning.

After Ezequiel tossed his car keys and a cellphone over the gate to his assailants, his 46-year-old uncle stepped out of a second-floor door and started firing at the suspects with his handgun.

The suspects then ran off before Pardo struck two of them, killing a 17-year-old boy, whose name was not released by the police.

Pardo also wounded 18-year-old Patricio González in the leg. He was arrested and taken to a local hospital.

A third accomplice fled the scene.

According to Argentine outlet Clarin, the police believe the gun used in the attempted robbery was taken from the crime scene by the third suspect, who remains at-large.

Investigators found a paycheck in a backpack that was secured at the scene and traced it to a woman who had been mugged by the group earlier that morning.

Pardo was taken into custody but released a couple of hours later after a prosecutor said the man ‘acted in self-defense.’
