Man speeds off with officer clinging on bonnet in China

Shocking footage emerged capturing a traffic policeman being hit onto a car bonnet in east China’s Shanghai.

The driver refused to present his driving licence and attempted to flee from the scene.

He reversed his car along a turn and hit the officer onto the bonnet before driving for about 200 metres (656 ft).

However, the man refused and started to reverse in a bid to escape

Footage posted on Weibo, a Chinese social media account by a web user with an account name as ‘Anthony_WuFei’.

‘Anthony_WuFei’ left in the comment explaining the incident happened at a junction in Dujuan Road, Pudong, Shanghai on October 19.

The traffic policeman can be heard shouting to a driver in the black car as he asked for driving licence.

However, the driver manoeuvred backwards suddenly and reversed along the curb.

Onlookers were shocked as the man drove fast past a crossing where young children can be seen at the site.

The driver then drove forward, hitting the traffic policeman onto the car bonnet.

In an attempt to flee from the scene, the driver tried to get rid of the officer by gaining speed and reversing its direction several times.

It’s unclear if the policeman had injured or not.

‘Anthony_WuFei’ posted a forum link with updated information.

The driver, allegedly to be a 43-year-old man known as Fang Yan Bao, was caught by the police officer at around 4:40pm.

Fang admitted that he purposely hit the officer around Dujuan Road.

It’s not sure if Fang had received any demerit points or penalty.
