Manchester United are reportedly eyeing up a potential summer move for former Premier League flop Moise Kean.

Kean, who is enjoying an excellent season at Fiorentina with 23 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions, spent four years in the Premier League with Everton between 2019 and 2023.

During his disappointing spell at Goodison Park, in which only scored a handful of goals, the Italian underwent two loan spells at Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus before eventually moving to the Serie A giants in the summer of 2023.

The Red Devils, who are in the market for a striker this summer with the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Victor Osimhen and Liam Delap on their radar, are now considering a move for Kean, according to Foot Mercato.

Kean’s release clause, which stands at €50million (£42m), can be triggered between July 1 and July 15.

Manchester United’s primary focus for the remainder of the season is the Europa League, with a winners’ medal earning them a spot in next season’s Champions League.

Despite triumphing 3-0 away from home in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final against Athletic Bilbao, Ruben Amorim fired a warning to his players to guard against complacency.

‘If you look at our season, anything is possible,’ he said. ‘We have to understand one goal can change anything: the momentum of the game, one sending-off. You saw it a week ago. Then at Brentford, we are near a draw and we suffer a goal and another one.

‘Some teams control the narrative. We cannot do that. I feel we need to score to go to the next round. We will have to suffer a bit to go to the final, and we are ready to suffer.’

Amorim went on to describe his United team as one of the worst teams in the Premier League, sitting 15th ahead of the crucial second leg at Old Trafford.

‘If you look at our team, we cannot say today what is going to happen. Sometimes during the game, we are one team and then we lose our mind a little bit,’ he added.

‘Since I arrived, we are one of the worst teams in the Premier League in terms of results. At the of the season, we can be the worst team in Premier League history with a European title.’
