Manchester United and Arsenal have been handed a major transfer boost as in demand striker Jonathan David has revealed he will leave Lille this summer.

The Canadian forward, who has scored 25 goals in 48 appearances this season, will be available for free once his contract expires at the end of June.

‘Every story has a beginning and an end,’ the striker said in a video posted on Instagram.

‘I wanted to tell you myself that, after many years at the club, it is time for me to say goodbye.’

David’s impending departure will see a number of Premier League clubs on high alert.

He will play his final game for Lille against Reims on Saturday in their last league fixture of the campaign.

‘That is the league that I enjoyed watching the most so one day I would like to play there.’

Manchester United are also believed to be in prime position to sign Ipswich striker Liam Delap, and are keen to make a move for Wolves star Matheus Cunha.
