Man United fan Barry Keoghan stars in their new third-kit launch alongside past and present midfielders Kobbie Mainoo and Bryan Robson at the club’s iconic but crumbling Cliff training ground

Hollywood star Barry Keoghan featured in a new video by Manchester United promoting the launch of their third kit.

Several Red Devils players, including Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund, and Kobbie Mainoo, accompanied him.

The clip begins by showcasing Keoghan, a lifelong Manchester United fan, walking towards the club’s crumbling iconic former training ground, The Cliff.

In the video, the BAFTA-award-winning actor meets several club legends, including Jaap Stam, Frank Stapleton, and Bryan Robson.

Shortly after, the clip reveals United’s new emblem, their traditional badge, alongside Adidas’ classic trefoil logo as a part of the brand’s 75th anniversary.

The action occurs inside The Cliff, Manchester United’s historic training ground, where Sir Matt Busby and Sir Alex Ferguson plotted many trophy campaigns.

The Red Devils’ youngster Amad Diallo can also be seen in the video shaking his head after one of the players receives a yellow card for taking his shirt off, showcasing the club’s new third kit.

Additionally, his teammates Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Kobbie Mainoo were captured recreating their iconic celebration from last season’s game against West Ham.

Left back Luke Shaw was seen with two cups of coffee, followed by United Women’s Gabby George, both of whom had experienced an injury-hit previous season.

Kobbie Mainoo then returned to watch the game alongside the legendary Bryan Robson, the longest-serving captain in the Red Devils’ history.

United supporters were then able to see their club icon Jaap Stam, who stepped in to replace the linesman that left the pitch with an injury.

The Irish actor narrates the clip, concluding the brand campaign with the phrase: ‘You can’t beat an original.’

Barry Keoghan, who is reportedly a major football fan, had considered a career in football before transitioning to acting.

The clip aimed to recreate the atmosphere of The Cliff, Manchester United’s iconic training ground, which has reportedly faced some tough times.

United’s former nerve centre has suffered from under-investment, while the kids from the team’s younger age nervously joke about bits of it falling off.

Fans were shocked to see a notice from March 2014 warning visitors not to enter one of the buildings, many of which look abandoned or surrounded by scaffolding.

Previously, Mail Sport reported that even the main entrance of the former United Temple has a large cracked window and graffiti on the walls.

The buildings’ exterior and interior are in poor condition and would require significant rebuilding.

When contacted over the centre’s condition, United said the pitch and the indoor centre have received investment and are maintained to a decent standard.
