Man United fans think Jose Mourinho’s prediction about one player has come true six years after former manager made it

Man United supporters think former manager Jose Mourinho has been proved right about one player.

Mourinho managed the Red Devils for two years between 2016 and 2018 and he tipped one of his signings for big things.

Speaking after his debut against Young Boys, Mourinho said full-back Diogo Dalot could play for United for the next 10 years. 

He said: ‘everyone can see the potential and everyone could see he’s a 19-year-old player who has more than 10 years to play for Manchester United.’

Six years later and Dalot is now enjoying his best moment in the shirt of United, shining in Sunday’s epic 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.

And United fans are taking to social media to praise Mourinho for his prediction. 

One posted on X: ‘Mourinho was right when he said that Dalot would become our RB for the next 10 years.’

Another agreed, writing: ‘Mourinho was right all along when he said Dalot was a right back for the next 10 years.’

One fan acknowledged that Mourinho was the only one to recognised Dalot’s full potential.

The account tweeted: ‘Dalot has reached levels I think only Jose Mourinho believed that he could reach. When he signed him in 2018 claiming he had our ‘right back for the next decade’. Many hoped but by 2020 few believed. Honestly seems like he’s gonna be proven right, what a player.

Another wrote:  ‘Aside from the Europa league Diogo Dalot signing is the best thing Mourinho did for us.’
