Eric Cantona added to his list of eccentric moments last week when he was spotted walking a goat in London.

The Frenchman, famed for behaviour off the pitch as much as on it, randomly popped up in a social media video on Friday.

In the clip that has now gone viral, Cantona was asked whether he could answer what the sum of eight and six is by an interviewer who appeared to be unaware of his identity.

‘The only number I know is number seven,’ The 58-year-old replied, in a clear nod to his iconic shirt number during his playing days with Manchester United.

Cantona’s antics also gained the attention of Glastonbury Festival goers last week. Footage circulated of a flag which depicted the former forward and his beloved pet.

In sporting circles, the word goat is a acronym for the the honourable tag of ‘Greatest of all Time.’

Fans have speculated that Cantona’s Bermondsey appearance was part of an advert for the automobile manufacturing giants Ford, as he was seen wearing a cap with the company’s name on it.

Fans have been quick to comment on social media, with many lauding the apparent stunt.
