A sadistic murderer who boasted ‘I feel great’ as he beat a disabled beggar to death for his own pleasure has been jailed for 35 years.
Miroslav Kolman, 36, left Jiri Ulman with more than 15 broken bones following a three-hour beating, during which he also forced the helpless victim to drink bleach.
As Mr Ulman, 52, begged for mercy, Kolman carried on kicking him and told a shocked eyewitness: ‘I love beating him, I feel great when I’m doing it.’
The victim, who was disabled and could barely walk, died a ‘long, lingering death’ and his body was later found dumped in nearby woodland.
Kolman, from Moston, Manchester, grinned in the dock as he was convicted of murder. He will not be considered for parole until 2042.
Czech-born Mr Ulman had been affectionately known as ‘stick man’ because he needed crutches to walk and was known for begging in Moston’s Peace Garden.
Locals would regularly offer him food and shelter but Kolman suspected he had stolen from him and on August 6 last year pounced on the victim.

In sentencing, Judge David Stockdale told Kolman: ‘One struggled to identify a motive for what you did to him.
‘There was a dispute over some CDs which you believed Jiri Ulman had stolen from you. That resurfaced a week or two before August 6 when you beat him.
‘It resurfaced again on August 6 but it doesn’t justify the violence used. When you were together in the room an argument broke out which quickly became violent.
‘You then proceeded to beat him, the motivation behind the hearing is difficult to explain.

‘You punched him, kicked him and stamped on him repeatedly. He offered no resistance whatsoever – he was incapable of offering any resistance.’
Manchester Crown Court heard that Mr Ulman suffered several severe injuries, including a broken arm, 15 fractured ribs and a broken neck.
Judge Stockdale added: ‘You repeatedly kicked him in the genitals. He died of multiple injuries. A doctor said it would have taken several hours for him to die.
‘I’m satisfied your motive in treating him in this way, however the argument was initiated, had little to do with stolen CDs.

‘It was your desire to control and bully him and the pleasure it gave you to beat him to death.’
Wellwishers were so shocked at the murder, they organised a pauper’s funeral for Mr Ulman. Former carer and mother-of-three Yvonne Rae, 47, said: ‘He was such a lovely nice man, and I just wanted people to pay their respects to him.
‘He was always there asking for 20p and I thought it would be fitting if everybody could bring along 20p for the church coffers.
‘I didn’t want him going hungry to heaven. He wouldn’t hurt a fly.’
