Manchester United are ‘unhappy’ with Chelsea over Mason Mount negotiations

Manchester United are ‘frustrated’ with Chelsea after the ‘Blues leaked information of failed Mason Mount bids to the media’… with Red Devils also believing Blues are ‘overvaluing’ the England star

Manchester United are reportedly frustrated with Chelsea over their negotiations for Mason Mount, with the Blues leaking information of failed bids to the media.

The Red Devils saw a third bid of £55million rejected by the Blues on Friday after stating that this would be their final offer for Mount.

However, Erik ten Hag’s side are expected to continue negotiations as Chelsea have offered a face-to-face meeting to discuss the deal.

As reported by Manchester Evening News, United are ‘unhappy’ with Chelsea as football director John Murtough is understood to be frustrated as the Blues communicated United’s bids through dedicated correspondents in London.

By leaking this information to the media, it has undermined the Red Devils, who further believe that Chelsea are ‘overvaluing’ Mount.

The report continues to state that as he is out of contract next year and wants to leave, United do not agree with Chelsea’s valuatin.

Furthermore, Mount is Ten Hag’s preferred option but United have at least four other midfield options to turn to which are deemed as ‘acceptable’ if they cannot land Mount.

It is believed that they finalised a ‘long list of targets per position in April’ and the manager has already held virtual meetings with potential targets.

While Chelsea instantly countered with a £58million plus £7million deal, it remains to be seen as to whether the Manchester club are willing to meet this valuation.

Negotiations are expected to continue as the Blues hold out for £65million for the Cobham graduate.
