‘We’re hoping that it’s not going to be too bad but he’ll be out for a little while.’
Telles looks set to miss next week’s friendlies against Brentford and Preston, with another warm-up match against Everton on August 7.
It gives United a problem at the left-back position with Luke Shaw not yet back in training after his exploits with England at Euro 2020.
Shaw and his Manchester United teammates who were included in England’s squad are expected to return to training in the next week or two.
It was previously reported the left-back suffered a rib injury during the Euros and is hopeful of being fit when they kick off their Premier League campaign against Leeds on August 14.
