Manchester United face battle to convince Jadon Sancho of Old Trafford move next summer… with player’s advisors ‘far from convinced’ club is right move for England star
- Jadon Sancho is set to be in demand again in next summer’s transfer window
- Manchester United’s transfer policy has seen them target young, exciting stars
- But reports suggest the club may find it difficult to convince Sancho to join
Manchester United’s hopes of signing England starlet Jadon Sancho next summer would be increasingly difficult if the club fail to secure Champions League football.
According to Goal, Sancho’s advisors are ‘far from convinced’ that Old Trafford is a smart landing spot for a player that is one of Europe’s most wanted talents.
United are marooned in 10th in the Premier League and have made their worst ever start to a Premier League season, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer under mounting pressure to improve the club’s fortunes.
Sancho has excelled at Borussia Dortmund having swapped Manchester City for the Bundesliga in 2017 and has seen his stock rise to a £100million plus player.
Bosses at Old Trafford would likely have no issue meeting Dortmund’s asking price but the player will want to ensure he can compete in the Champions League and compete for top trophies.
Since Solskjaer took permanent charge of the club in March, the transfer policy has shifted focus towards young, homegrown talents.
Welsh winger Daniel James arrived for £15m from Swansea while the club spent £50m to bring in England U21 star Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Harry Maguire is an England regular alongside Sancho in Gareth Southgate’s team and United, determined to land one of the finest in his position in the league, paid a world record fee for a defender of £80m to get him.
