Roberts and her second husband Danny Moder will celebrate the 13th birthdays of their twins Phinnaeus & Hazel on November 28, and they’re also parents of 10-year-old son Henry.

‘Hazel got a cell phone for her 12th birthday. We were on the fence, my husband and I,’ admitted the three-time Golden Globe winner.

‘But ultimately, her reasons for wanting a cell phone were so honest and clear. It wasn’t even like a PowerPoint [presentation], which she pulled on us before, it was just complete vulnerable honest about her needs and I was too in love with her at that moment. I was like, “We’ve got to get her a cell phone right now!”‘

The movie star described her 50th birthday as ‘nothing different about this birthday than any other one.’

She told InStyle that after high school she followed her siblings Eric and Lisa Roberts to New York City, with a job at Athlete’s Foot and then later Ann Taylor.

While working at Ann Taylor, Julia went to an audition for the film, Mystic Pizza.

She recalls that she used colored mousse to changer her blonde hair to dark brown for the audition, which made it ‘so brown, curly and stiff.’

Julia had an audition with her love interest in the film, Adam Storke, who stroked her hair in the audition ‘and his fingers turned black.’

Adding that she ‘was so self-conscious of how stiff my hair was.’

On the way home she noted that it started raining and the colored mousse was coming out of her hair and dripping down.

Julia is set to star and produce in the Amazon TV show Homecoming, which starts filming next year.

The mother of three calls the show ‘a total experiment.’ Adding that she ‘doesn’t even know what it really requires. I just know how to watch a TV show. I don’t know how to make one.’
