Former Manchester United defender Mikael Silvestre insists Sir Alex Ferguson won’t have a say in who should replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager.
The legendary manager was heavily involved in the decision for David Moyes to replace him after his retirement in 2013.
There has been some suggestion that Ferguson, eight years later, still has some influence over key decisions such as who should be manager.

It was previously reported that Ferguson wants Paris Saint-Germain boss Mauricio Pochettino to replace Solskjaer in the Old Trafford dugout.
Silvestre, who played under Ferguson at United from 1999 to 2008, has dismissed claims that his former boss still has any say in managerial decisions.
He told French publication L’Equipe: ‘He is part of the board, but he is not consulted about the change of coach.
‘The last time he had any influence on the arrival of a coach was with David Moyes.

‘He is far from operational. He certainly had this privileged relationship with Ole, but he remains behind.’
Solskjaer’s three-year trophy-less reign finally came to a crashing halt on Sunday, less than 24 hours after a humiliating 4-1 defeat away at newly promoted Watford.
Michael Carrick has been put in temporary charge for the next few games, starting against Villarreal in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
An interim boss will then be put in place before a permanent manager will take the job at the end of the season.
Silvestre, who played with Carrick at Old Trafford, says the temporary boss will bring ‘serenity’ to the club.

He added: ‘He will prepare the team and give the best of himself. He is still in the learning phase but it will still give the team a boost.’
Sportsmail have previously reported that Pochettino is ready to quit PSG and take over the United role as he is unhappy in Paris.
The former Tottenham boss is living in a hotel while his family remain in London, and is said to be frustrated at managing a dressing-room with big egos like Lionel Messi, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.
Pochettino was heavily linked with the United job when Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho in December 2018 and is still admired by the Old Trafford hierarchy.
Vice-chairman Ed Woodward, who was set to leave his role at the end of 2021, could extend his stay at the club to sort out United’s manager situation.
