Manchester United ‘posing great threat’ to Real Madrid in the race to sign Eduardo Camavinga

Manchester United are ‘posing a great threat’ to Real Madrid in the race to sign Rennes’ 17-year-old wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to replace Paul Pogba with his France team-mate next year

Manchester United are reportedly planning for life after Paul Pogba by eyeing up his France team-mate Eduardo Camavinga.

Pogba’s future at Old Trafford was questioned again last week after he spoke of his ‘dream’ to play for Real Madrid one day.

The 27-year-old is currently in the final year of his contract at United – although the Red Devils do have the option to extend that by a further 12 months.

However, according to AS – per Sport Witness – United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is considering a move for Rennes starlet Camavinga as Pogba’s replacement.

The Spanish publication report that United are ‘posing a great threat’ to Real Madrid in the race for the teenager’s signature.

The highly-rated 17-year-old’s contract at Rennes runs until the summer of 2022 and he has already rejected fresh terms for a renewal with the Ligue 1 side.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of Camavinga but was unable to try and sign him this summer due to the impact of coronavirus on the Spanish giants’ finances.

And now Zidane also has to contend with United in the running for Camavinga as well as Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus.

Camavinga’s agent is Mousa Sissoko who also manages Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. And AS report that despite United’s failed attempt to sign the latter on loan this summer, it laid ‘the foundation’ for a future move for Camavinga.
