Manchester United have rekindled interest in Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.
The Morocco international was a target for United last January, prior to them bringing in Marcel Sabitzer from Bayern Munich, however, Fiorentina would not let him go.
Amrabat also had Barcelona chasing his signature but their financial restrictions meant a proposed loan deal never materialised.
Now Fiorentina are ready to sell for around £30m.
United have agreed the £55m signing of Mason Mount from Chelsea and their next priority is to sign a striker, then a goalkeeper. Amrabat is earmarked as a replacement for Fred who has been attracting interest from Fulham and Saudi Arabia while Scott McTominay could also depart.

Amrabat was outstanding for Morocco during the World Cup in Qatar and his high energy and defensive discipline would greatly improve United.
United’s budget is restricted, particularly while their takeover remains incomplete, but the club is keen to re-channel funds from sales to upgrade the squad with a centre-back and left winger also considered, depending on who departs.
Erik ten Hag will take stock of other members of his squad during United’s pre-season trip to USA before determining whether Amad Diallo and others should go out on loan.
United expect to confirm the arrival of Mason Mount on Wednesday and he took time out on Tuesday to post a video to Chelsea fans thanking them for support ahead of his next career step.
Mount said: ‘Hi Chelsea fans. Given the speculation over the last couple of months, this may not come as a surprise to you that I’ve made the decision to leave Chelsea. I feel you deserve more than just a written statement.

‘So I wanted to tell you directly how grateful I’ve been for all of your support over the last 18 years. I know some of you won’t be happy with my decision, but it’s what is right for me at this moment in my career.
‘I joined Chelsea when I was six years old and we’ve been through a lot together. Winning the Youth Cup, my player of the year awards, the Super Cup, the Club World Cup, and the unforgettable night when we won the Champions League.
‘I want to say thank you to the academy for being so influential to me from a young age. The managers I’ve worked under, the backroom staff, all of my team-mates over the years who have become my brothers, and most importantly you guys.
‘I wish you all the best.’
