Manchester United have triggered the one-year extension clause in Jesse Lingard’s contract.
The Old Trafford club were determined to ensure he did not leave for nothing in the summer and will now look to sell the England international.
Lingard’s contract will expire in 2022 but his future appears to be away from United, having failed to feature in either the Premier League and Champions League this season.
