Mandy Moore on top of the world after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro

Mandy Moore is happily engaged to Taylor Goldsmith.

And in the May issue of New Beauty, the 33-year-old star talked about the possibility of starting a family.

‘I am so excited to hopefully be a mother one day,’ noted the Princess Diaries vet. ‘I feel like I have a little bit of a head start with This Is Us. I’m getting practice with babies and toddlers and 10-year-olds and teenagers and adults—every chapter of life.’

Mommy soon? Mandy Moore is happily engaged to Taylor Goldsmith. And in the May issue of New Beauty, the 33-year-old star talked about the possibility of starting a family

The Tangled star then added, ‘I have had much more experience dealing with the bigger issues they all have to contend with. I hope that is in the cards for me, sooner rather than later.’

She also talked playing Rebecca Pearson on This Is Us.

‘I love that I get to play a fallible human being. She’s not a perfect wife or mother, and I think that’s part of the secret to the show’s success.

‘People really relate to these characters because they see themselves or their own families and the choices they’ve made. It circles back to the connection our audience has with us and our stories.

‘I have never, ever been a part of something that people connect to like this, and it resonates so deeply. People want to come up to you and talk to you about the most vulnerable things in their lives and the experiences they’ve had. They want to get real with you and talk about the nitty gritty of life and that’s pretty unbelievable. It’s very humbling.’

And Mandy also talked about staying pretty for the camera.

‘I feel like if we keep going for a couple more seasons, I joke that they won’t even have to do all the hair and makeup because I will have aged,’ she said.

‘I don’t do anything preventive yet, but I probably really should. I know people start well before my age. For now it’s just the sunscreen aspect and trying to sleep and not live a crazy hard life or stress out about it either. I don’t use retinol or anything, but maybe I should.

‘I’ll skip around and try facials at different places, but nobody has pushed that sort of product on me yet, so until they do, I’ll just keep plugging along.’

This comes after Mandy climbed the tallest mountain in Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro.

The actress reached the summit of the 19,341 ft peak with her fiance, Eddie Bauer team athlete Lynsey Dyer, and a few of her other best friends.

Moore and her crew began their ascent on March 23, finally reaching the top after days of hiking.

The climb had been a longtime goal of the This Is Us star, who wrote on Instagram after completing her journey to the top, ‘I have dreamed the dream of climbing Mt Kilimanjaro since the age of 18.

‘Thanks to @eddiebauer, my partner in this adventure, this past week saw #1 on my bucket list come to fruition and I lived out one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences of my life with a few of my best friends.’

The emotional singer shared the story of the group’s final stage saying, ‘On the night of our ascent to the summit, we woke up at 11pm (after a few hours of napping) to enjoy a couple of nervous minutes together with a cup of coffee before it was time to gear up in my our warmest layers and start the nearly 8 hour trek to highest point in Africa- 19,341 ft.

‘In total darkness, we took it pole pole (slow slow) and trudged through rain, sleet and snow, where seemingly everything on our person managed to freeze (water bottles, backpacks, our eyelashes, hair, fingers, toes, etc…)

‘Oddly, I’ve never felt more determined to tackle such a physical challenge before and yet the combined elements of exhaustion and extremely cold weather made it much trickier than any of us were prepared for.

‘All of that aside, ultimately reaching the threshold of the true summit was more emotional and overwhelming than I had thought possible.

‘Kilimanjaro demands a lot from those who traverse her trails. You have no choice but to show up. And we did.

‘There’s nothing more empowering than realizing that we are all capable of so much more than we give ourselves credit for.’

Moore began dating Goldsmith – frontman of indie rock band Dawes – in 2015, and the two confirmed their engagement last September.

The couple actually met over Instagram, after the A Walk to Remember actress posted a pictures of Dawes’ 2015 album All Your Favorite Bands captioning it, ‘Real excited about this one. Have a feeling it’s going to be the soundtrack of my summer.’

She told People, ‘Somehow, Taylor saw it and sent a note to me. We started emailing back and forth, then we went on a date and the rest is history. Thanks Instagram, for helping me meet my fiancé!’
