Mandy Moore has had to say goodbye to her beloved companion of more than a decade.
The actress, 40, who welcomed her daughter into the world in September, was mourning the passing of her fur baby, Jackson, on Friday.
In an emotional post next to a carousel of photos that included highlights from the life the rescue pooch shared with Moore, the This Is Us star shared her grief with her friends and fans.
‘My beautiful boy. Thank you for an extraordinary 14+ years,’ she wrote about the gold and tan German shepherd mix.
‘You were an excellent protector (even if we told you it wasn’t necessary), you weren’t big on other animals or the kids but you loved in your own way and knew how loved you were by all of us,’ she wrote.

‘My Jackie D. My sweet old man. I hope you find Joni (Moore’s dog who died in 2020) and have a giant pool to chase tennis balls and swim until your heart’s content. We love you forever. Thanks for choosing us. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️’
Moore had Jackie when she began dating her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, 39 in 2015.
